With so much to see and do in the campground, on the river, at the beach and in the Redwood National Forest, we hope that you'll allow plenty of time for your visit. An often heard phrase here at Klamath Camper Corral is "We wish we could have stayed longer!" Here are just a few of some nearby attractions and links...
What we are? We are an 8/10th's of a mile groomed interpretive trail through the awe-inspiring Redwoods of Northern California. Part of the trail (The Trail of Tall Tales) is devoted to the myth and mythology of PAUL BUNYON, American's larger-than-life logger from the turn of the century. The trail, museum, gift shop, and restaurant are geared toward the family or group traveler. Plan to spend at least half a day here, there is much to see and do! The Trees of Mystery is located on Highway 101, a few miles north of the Klamath Camper Corral RV resort.
Klamath's Jet Boat Tour's experienced captain and narrator will describe the River's rich history, local Native American culture and thriving wildlife. Bear, black tail deer, elk, soaring osprey, eagles, hawks, otters, mink and many other varieties of wildlife may be seen by looking along the riverbanks. The owners take great pride in providing you with a wonderful and exciting experience you will always cherish.
This privately owned tourist attraction allows visitors the opportunity to drive through a healthy, living Redwood tree. The Tour-Through Tree is approximately 725 years old! The opening is 7'4" (2.23m) wide and 9'6" (2.9m) high, permitting the passage all standard cars, vans and pickups. The Tree is 15' (4.5m) in diameter at eye level.
Fern Canyon is one of the many walking trails available in the Redwood National Forest. The drive to the trail head is worthwhile in and of itself. It opens onto the beaches of the Pacific Ocean after it passes herds of elk while winding up and down rolling hills and through beautiful redwood forests. The trail itself follows a small stream, winding back and forth until it suddenly opens into a staggeringly beautiful canyon, its 50' vertical walls cloaked in eight species of ferns, its silence broken only by the contented gurgle of the stream.
The Klamath River provides some of the best Salmon and Steelhead fishing in the world. Fish from shore, boat or a professional guide. Our professional onsite fishing guide service, James Keeling Guide Services, can guide you down the Smith and Klamath River for guided trips of Salmon, Trout and Steelhead.
Don't miss the stunning Klamath Overlook of the Pacific Coast on Requa Road. Or, take a drive into neighboring Crescent City to check out the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center, the Ocean World Aquarium or take a walk along the Crescent City area Beaches and lighthouses. Have you always wanted to ride on horseback through the majestic redwoods or along a pristine beach? Check out Crescent Trail Rides in Crescent City, CA only 18 miles north on Hwy 101.
